Frostfire Annie and Tibbers - League of Legends
I made both cosplays to debut at G-Anime 2015 which we attended on January 24th.
The Annie costume was made with altered patterns. I made it in two pieces and based it off a hoodie pattern and a circle skirt pattern. All of the white fluff trim was hand sewn on, stitch by stitch, which made the costume a rather long process to make. The inside of the hood has a section for the drawstring to go through, which is actually functional. The drawstring itself was crocheted.
For the skirt I also used a cute trim, pieces of cotton and some extra tulle to make the crinoline which gives the costume it's shape.
The boots on the costume were made using a pair of old pink and white slippers as a base. I hand stitched on the white flannelette to the slipper at the bottom, then sewed on the white fake fur to make the boot. There is some elastic attached to the top which helps keep them up, even though without them the fake fur is rather sturdy.
The snowman back pack was made with my own pattern, as was the Tibbers plushie. The back pack and Tibbers plush are both working bags, and have lining, stuffing and zippers. Tibbers was made like this so I could hide some fabric in him on stae and pull it out afterwards to appear like fire.
I made Jon's Tibber's costume using a reference to a jumpsuit pattern which I modified. I made most of his details in a similar way to making plushies, and most of the details were hand sewn on, including the embroidered pieces across the chest.
The two costumes combined have a total of 5 zippers that I had to install: one on the skirt, one on the sweater, one on the back pack, one on mini Tibber's back and one on the Tibbers costume.
Both costumes were very comfortable, but very warm to wear. And, during the masquerade we participated at the Artisan level due to a group mate being in the division. We got an honorable mention for Winter Wear, meaning that my two costumes got us the honorable mention, which felt great as I was in the journeyman division at the time.
Our group was also very fun, and we got to do a photoshoot with the very talented Richard Dufault.
