Saria - Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
A complete remake of my first costume from 2010. I made this costume in May 2016 in a few days.
The main part of the costume is the jumper, which was made using several patterns and combining them together. I altered several shirt patterns and shorts patterns to combine together into the jumper. The arm and neck holes have facings which I also had to add in.
The turtle neck shirt underneath the jumper was made from a basic cowl neck shirt pattern and I made the cowl a bit smaller so it would be a turtle neck instead.
The belt is basically a pressed tube, with velcro and a fake belt buckle. It is not actually a proper, working belt. The belt loops were made by making a very thin rectangular shape and cutting it into small strips, and top stitching them onto the jumper around the waist.
The boots on the costume were made with a custom made pattern using the stretch fabric used elsewhere in the costume. They are basically two pieces (each) in the shape of a leg and foot that were sewn flat together. The bottom of the foot opening were glued onto a pair of plain, comfortable shoes.
I got a chance to use my new serger while working on this costume, so the stretch fabric is all properly finished.
Costume was first debuted at YetiCon 2016, where I did a photo shoot with fellow Zelda fan Smikimimi!
