Classic Princess Daisy - Super Mario
This cosplay was made for Ottawa Pop Expo on November 22nd, 2014.
The dress was made with the exact same pattern as my Princess Zelda cosplay, an it luckily has a cirlce skirt which made it perfect for fitting over a hoop skirt. The hoop skirt was bought, but altered down a bit since a few of the hoops were too big and therefore didn't fit me properly. I also made the crinolin skirt and petticaot that goes over the hoop skirt to help keep the hoops from showing through the fabric.
The sleeves were an original pattern, and had elastics in them to help keep them up and poofy. The petal trim collar and sleeves were made of the same fabric as the white skirt layer and were made by using a cup to make each one as even as possible for shape. The bow/sash is a separate piece and is simply tied on.
The crown was made from a custom pattern that I made. I did several attempts out of paper to get the right shape that I wanted. I really wanted to make sure that the crown went out with a slight diagonal, so the bottom of the pattern is rounded. I may share it later. I cut my final pattern out of craft foam and paper mached it to keep it solid. It was then painted and I added a shine layer.
Each gem and flower pieces were made out of model magic and carefully hand-molded, then glued to their respective places.
There is a pin on the back or the large daisy brooch and also velcro to keep it in place.
For the wig I just fixed the curls and used a lot of product to fix the bangs into the "wing" shape they have.
The gloves were bought..
